Environmental Policy

HSC Interiors (HSC) is committed to minimising our environmental impact and promoting sustainable design practices throughout the commercial interior design process. We recognise the environmental challenges facing our planet and believe that businesses have a responsibility to operate in an environmentally responsible manner. Our goal is to contribute positively to the environment while delivering exceptional design solutions to our clients.

This policy outlines our commitment to environmental sustainability and serves as a framework for our decision-making processes.

We are committed to:

  • Sustainable Design Principles: Integrating sustainable design principles into every project we undertake. This includes considering energy efficiency, water conservation, use of recycled and recyclable materials, minimising waste generation, and creating healthy and comfortable interior environments through specification and design considerations.

  • Client Education: Educating our clients on the environmental benefits of sustainable design solutions and collaborating with them to achieve their project goals while minimising environmental impact.

  • Supplier Selection: Prioritising suppliers who demonstrate a commitment to environmental responsibility through their manufacturing practices, product materials, recycled and recyclable product properties and recognised certifications (e.g., FSC, GreenTag, EPD, CDP)

  • Resource Efficiency: Minimising our use of paper, energy, and water in our office operations. We explore opportunities to utilise digital tools and communication methods, utilise energy-efficient equipment, and promote responsible water usage.

  • Waste Reduction: We are dedicated to reducing waste generation and promoting recycling initiatives within our company and among our clients. We implement waste management strategies to minimise landfill disposal and maximise resource recovery by working with suppliers and clients to upcycle, reuse and repurpose whenever possible during construction phases of projects.

  • Biodiversity Preservation: We recognise the importance of biodiversity conservation and strive to minimise our impact on natural habitats and ecosystems. We promote the use of sustainable landscaping practices and the incorporation of biophilic design principles in our projects to enhance biodiversity and connect occupants with nature.

  • Carbon Emissions Reduction: We are committed to reducing our carbon emissions by implementing measures such as energy-efficient design practices, promoting online video conferencing to reduce travel, and offsetting unavoidable emissions through verified carbon offset projects.

  • Collaboration and Partnerships: We actively collaborate with suppliers, contractors, and industry partners who share our commitment to environmental sustainability. By working together, we can leverage collective expertise and resources to drive positive change within the industry.

  • Continual Improvement: Regularly reviewing our environmental performance and setting measurable goals for improvement. We will stay informed about the latest sustainable design trends and technologies and seek opportunities to incorporate them into our design studio.
